Innovations
In 1988, Pop'n'Work introduced the Work Ground Strut Tent. In 1994, major design improvements were developed. The Ground Strut Tent is remarkably simple and rugged.
- Quick Set-Up - just pop out two fiberglass side frames.
- Free Standing Stability - with the cover fastened to the ground struts, tent stability is exceptional. It will not blow over in windy conditions.
- Two Door Models - with the ground strut design, tents with two doors are possible. A two-door tent can be used more efficiently in many work situations, particularly on cabinets and when pole wrapping is required.
- Pitch Roof - provides extra headroom and structural strength to hang heavy tools or lights.
- Easy Cover Replacement - a unified frame design allows quick cover removal or installation, significantly reducing tent costs.
- Unbreakable Hinges - made of cold rolled steel. All frames are bolted at both ends.
Ground Strut Tent (GS Series)
- Available with one or two doors. Slit door with zipper closure is standard.
- Large roll-up door is optional and can be used as a canopy to extend tent coverage. Available with Velcro or zippered closures.
- Tent can be square or rectangular.
- Available with one or two connecting doors to join two or more tents. Is also available with a Pole Wrap door.
- Two sidewall extension frames pop out to set up the tent. Sidewall frames are constructed with flexible fiberglass rods extending from a central hinge.
- All GS tents have a ground strut along the rear wall. The tent wall is fastened to the strut giving the tent its free-standing stability. If there is no door in the rear wall, the ground strut is curved so the tent sits firmly on uneven terrain. Tents with two roll-up doors have a straight ground struth both front and back.
- Standard colors are white with light grey on the bottom half of the sidewalls and an orange safety stripe on both sidewalls. Bright blue is an optional color for the bottom half of the sidewalls. All fabrics meet CPAI-84 standards for fire resistance.
- All GS tents have the exclusive Pop'n'Work unified frame which is virtually unbreakable and cannot pull apart unexpectedly. The frame is independent of the cover and can actually stand on its own. Cover attachment is very simple and damaged covers are easily replaced.
- The Quick-Pak Flap is a standard feature on GS tents with the exception of some two-door models.
Similarities & Differences
Although Pop'n'Work Ground Strut and Flex Tents share many design similarities, they also have a number distinct differences. Simplicity and optional two-door models are key features of GS tents. The major FX Tent advantages are vertical stability and flexibility in a large tent combined with it's amazing adaptabilty to tight spots and rough terrain.

In 1992, we introduced the Pop'n'Work Flex Tent to fit special ground tent needs. It has no ground struts, but instead has a telescoping X-Frame in the back wall.
The Flex Tent is also designed for quick set up and exceptional free-standing ability. It has a pitched roof, easy cover replacement and non-breakable hinges.
- Fits into Tight Spots - the telescoping X-Frame allows you to squeeze your tent into tight spaces.
- Ideal for Splicing - the flexible frame makes it possible to set the tent over cables, other obstructions and easily adapts to rough terrain.
- Large Tent Stability - the back wall X-Frame gives the Flex Tent free- standing ability while providing vertical structural strength. This makes even large tents very stable and rugged.
Flex Tent (FX) Series
- Single door only, slit door with zippered closures is standard.
- Large roll-up door with zippered closures only is optional.
- Tent can be square or rectangular.
- Available with a connecting door to join two tents or a Pole Wrap door.
- Two sidewall extension frames pop out to set up the tent. Sidewall frames are constructed with flexible fiberglass rods extending from a central hinge.
- No ground struts, but instead a telescoping X-Frame in the back wall provides free standing stability. X-Frame extends or retracts automatically as you pop the sidewall frames in or out.
- The Quick-Pak Flap is standard on all FX tents.
